Mr Cecil van der merwe and his sons held a record breaking Dohne Merino production sale on the 31st of January 2018. The sale was marked by attendance of breeders from outside the district including a few leading studbreeders A total of 72 rams were sold at the record average price for a Dohne Merino production sale of R16819. The highest priced ram was sold at R62000 to Mr CP Dormehl also from Barkly East. The sale was auctioned by Mr. Nel of OVK.
