Marius van Heerden held the Grootfontein research trust’s production sale on 19 February 2021. A total of 61 rams were sold at the average prive of R8,369. The top priced ram with breeding values of weaning direct 2.701 kg; weaning maternal 0.163 kg; number lambs weaned 3.338 percent; 12 months body weight 4.055 kg; clean fleece weight 0.297 kg; fibre diameter 0.007 micron, was sold at R25,000 to Mr JP Steynberg. The 41 pregnant ewes were sold at R3,150 each while58 open ewes were sold at the average price of R2,219 (top price R2,350).
