The annual production sale of Grootfontein Research Trust took place on the 21st of February 2025. A total of 58 rams sold to an average price of R9,069. Maiden stud ewes sold for R2,100.00. Congratulations to Grassridge Farms (PTY) LTD of Fish River on the purchase of the top priced ram for R19,500. This ram, (GF231228), had breeding values of: number of lambs weaned per ewe lifetime -0.12 percent; weaning weight direct +1.53 kg; weaning weight maternal -0.03 kg; body weight +3.92 kg; clean fleece weight +0.09 kg; fibre diameter -0.22 micron and general merit of +8.37.
