Mr Steyn Steenekamp, (Roosterhoek Dohnes) and Gawie van Zyl (GWG Dohnes) held their annual production sale on the first of February. The two studs also acquired one of the leading Dohne Merino studs – Olmar and also sold Olmar offspring for the first time on their sale. The total of 84 rams on offer were all sold for the excellent average price of R13048. The Highest price of R64 000 was paid for a GWG ram by Mr. M Scheepers from Fouriesburg. It is also notable that the second highest price of R60 000 was paid for an Olmar ram. Commercial ewes were sold at the
average price of R2 578 with a highest price of R2 875 for ewes pregnant with twin lambs.
