The University of Free State acquired 100 pregnant commercial Dohne Merino ewes from Mr Koos Vosloo, Edenburg. These ewes are intended to be used in all small stock projects of the university. According to president of the Dohne Merino breed society, Mr. Koos Vosloo, the strategy of the University will be to expand their Dohne Merino flock to 500 ewes and also to develop a Dohne Merino stud. The Dohne Merino breed society trust that this Dohne Merino project will be very successful and the it will take the cooperation between the Dohne Merino breed society and Free State University to a next level.
