Well-known Dohne Merino breeder from the Southern Cape passes away

One of the most respected breeders in the registered Dohne Merino community passed away on Sunday, 20 January, 2019.  Mr. Fanie Joubert, Riversdal, passed away after an illness that had him suffering for the past six months.  Fanie Joubert  together with his son Jan Hendrik Joubert operated the Drooge Rivier Dohne Merino stud for many years.  This stud, in time, produced many top stud sires some of which were sold at the National Dohne Merino sale.  The Dohne Merino breed Society and its members sympathize with Fanie Joubert’s wife, His son, Jan Hendrik and his two daughters as well as his next of kin with their sad loss.   The funeral will take place on the afternoon of 24 January at Riversdal.
