Well known Paraguayan farmer and former Dohne Merino Breeder passes away

It is with great sadness that Dohne Merino breeders became aware that Danie Coetzee who lived in Paraguay for the passed 30 years, is deceased.   Danie Coetzee was Manager of the central Dohne Merino nucleus in the Southern Free State, and made a great contribution to the breed before he and his family relocated to Paraguay.  According to news articles in the media Danie was allegedly murdered by armed rebels who demanded a ransom.

The Dohne Merino breed society hereby express its condolences with the Coetzee family and all Danie’s friends with this tragic loss.
