Cecil van der Merwe – production sale – 2021

Cecil van der Merwe recorded the highest average price on a production sale to this point for the autumn Dohne Merino sales season for 2021.  The sale that took place on 26 January, 2021, resulted 78 rams sold for the average price of R17,872.  The highest priced ram, VM190249, was sold at R42,000 to Mr Cobus Church from Rouxville.  VM190249’s breeding values were weaning direct 0.301 kg; weaning maternal 0.018 kg; number lambs weaned 6.3 percent; 12 months body weight 4.119 kg; clean fleece weight 0.454 kg; fibre diameter 0.665 micron.  A total of 415 ewes pregnant with twins, were sold at the average price of R3010 and another 967 ewes pregnant with singles, were sold at the average price of R2,520.
