The Charfontein Dohne Merino stud held its annual production sale on Wednesday, 15 July 2021 – a chilly winters day. The total of 63 excellent veld adapted rams were sold at the average price R12,150. The top priced ram (CG190204) with breeding values of +3.620 percent for lambs weaned; +2.62 kg weaning direct; +0.487 kg weaning maternal; +0.409 kg clean wool and -0.4467 for fibre diameter; was sold at R40,000 to Mr. Dudley Hartley of Dullstroom Ranch. Commercial ewes attained on average prices of R3,400 for four tooth ewes and R2,270 for six tooth ewes. BKB Standerton held this very successful sale.
