Weska Dohnes – Production sale – 2021

Weska Dohnes achieved record level prices on their annual production sale which took place on the 30th of July, 2021.  The total of 65 Dohne Merino rams were sold at the average price of R19,077.   The Stellenbosch University Dohne Merino stud, managed by Mr. John Morris, bought the highest priced ram at R60,000.  This ram, JW190918’s breeding values were +4.587 percent lambs weaned;  +3.512 kg weaning direct; -0.299 kg weaning maternal; + 0.533 kg clean fleece weight and -0.128 micron for fibre diameter.  Stud ewes (19) were sold at the average price of R3,126 and commercial ewes (120) for R2,775 on average.  The highest price for ewes was R4,000.
