Lowmar Dohnes held their extremely successful 12th production sale on the farm, Vervulling, Cradock, on 27 January, 2022. On this very hot day, the total of 57 excellent Dohne Merino rams were all sold at the average price of R17 140. The two top priced rams at R46 000 were sold to Mr. Pieter Erasmus. The ram LM200214, single born had breeding values of: weaning direct 2.89 kg; weaning maternal 0.173 kg; number lambs weaned 1.802 percent; clean fleece weight 0.118 kg; fibre diameter -0.342 micron. The second ram LM200455, one of a twin, had breeding values of: weaning direct 2.11 kg; weaning maternal -0.335 kg; number lambs weaned 0.13 percent; clean fleece weight 0.22 kg; fibre diameter -0.347 micron.
Ewes pregnant with twins, realized prices as high as R3800 and the average price for all 300 pregnant ewes was R3640.
