The University of Stellenbosch held their annual production sale on the farm Mariendahl (Elsenburg) on the 14th of July, 2022. A total of 50 excellent Dohne Merino rams were sold at the average price of R15,800. The highest priced ram at R31,000, was sold to Mr Hoffie Basson, Goudklip Dohne Merinos, Malmesbury. Breeding values for the top priced ram, US210617, one of a twin, were: weaning direct +2.239 kg; weaning maternal +0.598 kg; number of lambs weaned +7.681 percent; clean fleece weight +0.253 kg; fibre diameter +0.355 micron; general merit +10.22 units.
