The annual National Dohne Merino sale took place at the Bloemfontein showgrounds on 16 February 2022. Although less rams than expected were entered for this single most prestigious Dohne Merino sale, the total of 27 top rams were sold at the average price of R44 000. Congratulations to Pleasant View Dohnes which was awarded as region 6’s top breeder and also sold the top priced ram at R160 000. A total of four buyers – Mrrs. Proline Farming, Olea Dohnes, Roosterhoek Dohnes and Twee Neefs bought this excellent ram. The ram, CR200025, born as one of a twin, had breeding values of: weaning direct 2.749 kg; weaning maternal 0.385 kg; number lambs weaned 8.839 percent; clean fleece weight 0.178 kg; fibre diameter -0.221 micron
