Grootfontein agricultural research trust sold 67 excellent Dohne Merino rams at their annual production sale. The top price for the sale on the 18th of February 2022, was R27 000. The average price for the rams on offer was R8,948. The ram GF191134, sold to Grassridge Farms, was born as one of a twin and had breeding values of: weaning direct -0.326 kg; weaning maternal +0.669; Number of lambs weaned +2.672 percent; clean fleece weight -0.072 kg; fibre diameter -0.987 micron and General Merit +6.33;
Open ewes and pregnant ewes were sold at the average prices of R2 850 and R3 203 respectively
