The top priced ram out of the Intaba Dohne Merino stud (Steynberg) sold for R15,000 and was purchased by Mr Willie Ferreira from Cradock. This ram, (SF230064), born as one of a twin, had breeding values of: number of lambs weaned per ewe lifetime -0.18 percent; weaning weight direct +2.50 kg; weaning weight maternal -0.07 kg; body weight +3.5 kg; clean fleece weight +0.37 kg; fibre diameter -1.09 micron and general merit of +14.98.
The Nkwazi Trust from Colesberg purchased the top priced ram from Amalgam Dohnes (Hobson) for R15,500. This ram, (A220112), born as one of a twin, had breeding values of: number of lambs weaned per ewe lifetime +0.40 percent; weaning weight direct +1.36 kg; weaning weight maternal +0.64 kg; body weight +1.48 kg; clean fleece weight +0.10 kg; fibre diameter +0.39 micron and general merit of +4.25.
